What the machine watches

This page reports the state of automated retrieval from USAspending.gov. Retrieval is not publication: a detected change is written to a review queue and appears on a receipt only after a person verifies it against the source.

Retrieval current

USAspending.gov API v2 was successfully checked at 2026-10-02 17:27 UTC. Published ledger records are current through 2026-08-20.

Staleness is measured from the last fully successful retrieval, not from the age of the underlying federal data and not from publication. USAspending republishes contract-action data each business day. A scheduled job attempts this retrieval twice a day, so a successful check older than 48 hours means attempts have been failing and is reported as stale rather than presented as current.

Review queue

Change candidates awaiting human review: 15.

A change is called material when an amount moves by $100,000 or more, an end date changes, the named recipient changes, the award status changes, new transactions are reported, or a competition field changes. A recipient change or a movement of $10M or more is called high. Smaller tracked movements are recorded as low. Nothing is published automatically.

What this does not establish

  • A stored snapshot records what the source published at a moment in time. It does not establish that the figure was correct.
  • A detected change records a difference between two retrievals. It does not establish why the record changed, or that anyone acted improperly.
  • The tracked list is a small deliberate sample. Absence of an award here is not evidence that it does not exist.
