Corrections
Tell us what we got wrong
Corrections are not a complaint box bolted to the footer. They are part of the evidence system: every accepted correction is recorded on the affected record with a date.
01
How corrections are handled
- We check the challenged claim against the primary source before changing anything.
- If a record changes, the correction and its date appear in the record's provenance block.
- If a source is superseded, the old source stays listed and is marked superseded.
- We do not remove accurate, sourced information because it is unflattering.
Submissions are reviewed by a person. Abusive, threatening, or targeting submissions are discarded. Do not send information about private individuals in detention, and do not send anything you are not permitted to share.
